BJORN STEIGER STIFTUNG

“Maybe our son could have been saved, but in 1969 there was still no functioning rescue service in Germany.”

WE HELP SAVE LIVES

BJORN STEIGER STIFTUNG

The BJORN STEIGER STIFTUNG is a German non-profit organization dedicated to emergency rescue and first aid training. Founded in Germany in 1969, the organization is named after Bjorn Steiger, a young German who lost his life in a car accident due to ineffective rescue efforts. His family decided to create this foundation in his memory, with the aim of improving the rescue system and promoting first aid training throughout the country.

KEY FEATURES OF THE BJORN STEIGER STIFTUNG

Main Missions

The organization’s main mission is to save human lives by improving the timeliness and effectiveness of rescue in emergency situations. This is achieved through the promotion of first aid education and training, as well as through the purchase of rescue equipment.

The Bjorn Steiger Stiftung offers training courses in first aid for the general public and for rescue professionals, such as doctors, paramedics and healthcare workers. These courses teach essential skills to respond effectively in emergency situations, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), wound management and stabilization

The organization also invests in research and development to improve rescue techniques and the equipment used by rescuers. This commitment aims to keep emergency relief at the cutting edge of available medical knowledge and technology.

The Bjorn Steiger Stiftung is actively involved in raising public awareness of the importance of emergency rescue and first aid training. The organization promotes awareness campaigns to educate the community on how to respond to emergency situations and how to prevent accidents.

The organization collaborates with government bodies, emergency services, health organizations and other NGOs to further promote its mission and improve the relief system in Germany and other countries.

“The Bjorn Steiger Stiftung is an organization dedicated to making the world a safer place through education, training and improving emergency relief. His story is an example of how personal tragedy can inspire large-scale positive change.”
